Freefall Dance Company is a company supported and in partnership with Birmingham Royal Ballet that grew out of the pioneering work of Lee Fisher with Fox-Hollies School in Birmingham. The company is comprised of young adults with learning disabilities that receives weekly ballet and dance training from Lee and members of Birmingham Royal Ballet, alongside rehearsals of new works and revivals for annual performance. The company has now been in existence for twenty years and has made numerous award winning films.

After Bach was a piece I adapted from a site specific film of theirs and choreographed for the company and BRB dancers Jenna Roberts, Iain MacKay and Yvette Knight. The challenges and difficulties of working with Freefall are always vastly outweighed by the exuberance and joy that the company bring to their every endeavour and the two days we spent making this film were both exhausting, and exhilarating.
